GARRY BROWN, SR.

Garry Brown, Sr. entered eternal rest at this residence on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 69. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Garry was a graduate of West Jefferson High School, and he attended Southern A&M University College. He was a retired security officer. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn Ann Brown. Devoted father of April Bailey, Shantrial Walker, and Dr. Garry Brown, Jr. Grandfather of Tatiyana Bailey, Izannah Bailey, Gabrielle Bailey, Jalil Joiner, and Ja’Khi Joiner. Great grandfather of Talyn Bailey. Son of Ada Muse Brown and the late Joseph Brown, Sr. Grandson of the late Rev. James Brown, Alma Brown, Freddie Muse, Sr. and Ada Beatrice Parker Muse. Brother of Tamara Brown Johnson, Frederick Brown, and Joseph Brown. Nephew of Elmo Muse and the late Freddie Muse, Jr., and Brenda Muse. Father in law of Hollis Bailey. Son in law of Beatrice Walker. Brother in law of Albert Williams, Gaylen Spencer, Sr., Joseph Johnson, Rosalind Williams, Ruby Walker, Jimmetta Ventris Fernandez, Beatrice Spencer, and Carolyn Walker, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Austerlitz Street Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Austerlitz Street Baptist Church, 819 Austerlitz St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sherman Washington, officiating.
