EUGENE STERLING MARTIN, SR.

Eugene Sterling Martin, Sr., age 71, entered into eternal rest at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Hospital on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Eugene was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, from which he retired after many years of active duty. Beloved husband of Phyllis Denise Sterling Martin. Loving father of Beautiful Essence McDaniels (Eugene Jr.); bonus father of Javonda, Shavonda, Shamika, Tomika, and Asher. Son of the late George Martin, Mable B. Martin, and Floyd Moss. Devoted brother of Marvin Moss, Althea Mathieu, Inell Tucker, and the late Floyd Moss. Eugene is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Household of Faith and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Household of Faith, 712 27th Street, Gretna, LA on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Elder Booker T. Collor, Jr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
