ETHEL LEE PHIPPS

Ethel Lee Phipps entered eternal rest at Passages Hospice on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 81. She was a native of Liberty, MS and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Ethel was a retired certified nurse assistant. Beloved mother of Solomon Phipps, Jr., Denise Phipps, Kathy Phipps (Michael Spencer), Devin Phipps, Contrice Martin, and the late Patricia Phipps Borden. Grandmother of the late Samuel Phipps. Daughter of the late Luther and Lucielle Rogers. Sister of George Rogers, Anthony Rogers, Bennie Rogers, Lillian Cline, Christine Strowder, Geneva Matthews, Carmella Motley, Sadie Cushenberry, and the late Roosevelt Rogers, Tommy Rogers, Michael Rogers, Ruthie Rogers, and MaryAnn Rogers. Ethel is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
