ERRON ADAM BUCKNER

Erron “PEPE” Buckner entered into eternal rest at his residence on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the age of 65. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. “PEPE”, as he was affectionally known to family and friends, was a graduate of John McDonogh High School and The New Orleans Culinary Institute. He was a gifted and hardworking pastry chef, who brought joy to many, through his culinary craft, while employed with Byron Catering Company. Erron later severed community as a cook with the Orleans Parish Public School System. Beloved husband of the late Joan “Cupcake” Sylve Buckner. Loving father of Erron (Kim) Sylve, Sr., Edward (Donlivia) Sylve, Sr., Dione (Kendrick) Anderson, and the late Demeyond Sylve. Cherished grandfather of Timara, Hashawn, Ed’Dricka, Kendrick, Jr., Edward, Jr., Christopher, Erriyaun, Erica, Ebony, Erron, Jr., and the late Kendell. Great grandfather of Kaden, Kinly, and Hassan. Son of the late Edward Buckner and Gwendolyn Johnson. Devoted brother of Edward Buckner, Jr., Deneen Buckner Jackson, Bridgette Buckner Theodore, and the late Jeffery Johnson, and Leonard “Toy” Johnson. Godson of the late Shirley Williams. Brother-in-law of Elaine Clark and Darlene Sylve. Erron is also survived by his dear friends Joe Pie, Mark Sears, Kenneth Jones, and Eric Sanchez, who were known as his “Potnas”, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of House of Healing Outreach Church, First Pilgrim Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at House of Healing Outreach Church, 2912 Conti Street, New Orleans, LA on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor George Green, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
