Ernest Lee Houston entered eternal rest at his residence on Sunday January 4, 2026, at the age of 62 surrounded by family and friends. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Ernest attended West Jefferson High School. Beloved husband of Cheryl Houston. Bonus father of Shavonne Havies and Johnisha Havies. Son of the late Mose Houston and Rosemary Cooper Houston. Brother of Moses Houston, Jr., Debra Lynn (Donald) Thompson, Terri Ann (Curtis) Jacobs, Gina (Lawrence) Washington, and the late Shirley Hawkins, and Faye Cooper Houston. Godfather of Calvin Houston, also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 brothers in law, 3 sisters in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
