ERICA WOODFORK

Erica “Woody” Woodfork, age 88, gained his wings as he was peacefully escorted to his eternal home on Saturday, December 13, 2025. He was a native of Edgard, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Erica was a 1955 graduate of Second Ward High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1957.He was employed for 30 years as a ship fitter with Avondale Shipyard, retiring in 1999. Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Lorreta Jones Woodfork. Devoted father of Jeanell (Harry) Green, Jeffery, Novall and Novarrell. Loving grandfather of Edward Proctor, Erica Woodfork, Genarra Woodfork, Jaron Chest, Gavin Spurlock, Gaylyn Spurlock, and Na’Varrell Woodfork. Son of the late Alex Woodfork and Lena Johnson Woodfork. Brother of Erma Woodfork Antonio, and the late Luella Grows, Alverta Essno, Junior Woodfork, and Edmond Woodfork. Also cherishing his memories are his godchildren, Roland Borne, Jr., Paula Williams, Archie Irons, and Kameron Gullage, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Service at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1219 Cohen Street, Marrero, LA on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Albert Mickel, officiating.
