Minister Eric Royce Johnson, age 61, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Sanctuary at Passages Hospice. He was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA.  Minister Johnson was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and Southern University of New Orleans, where he earned a Batchelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. He was a former Associate Minister at Good Hope Baptist Church, Regular Baptist Church, and Hope Ministry. Beloved husband of Migdonia Laxina Johnson “Miss Mary”. Loving father of Arielle Johnson and Damien Eric Johnson, Sr. Son of the late Henry Johnson and Lee Gene Darby Johnson. Grandson of the late Jimmie Lee Flagg and Bishop Henry Flagg. Devoted brother of Samuel Henry Johnson, Rev. Glen Johnson, Sr. of Dallas, TX, Norma Jean Myers of Alamogordo, NM, and the late Mildred J. Brown and Sheryl B. James. Minister Johnson is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Father Emile “Buddy” G. Noel of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, will be the Mass Celebrant also the Spiritual Director of EL SHADDA DWXI-PPFI Inc-Ministry-N. O. LA, U.S. A. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 10:00a.m. - Rev. Fr. Nam Nguyen will officiate the ceremony Parish Priest of Christ of the King, Terrytown where Minister Eric Johnson attended with his wife.
