Emanuel “Bobby” Smith entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the age of 70. He was a native of Bolton, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Emanuel was a graduate of Sumner High School and continued his education at Hind Community College, where he majored in Welding. He was employed with Avondale Shipyard and Total Marine Company, until his retirement. Beloved and devoted husband of Wanda Smith. Loving father of Alfred (Eve) Gadson, Albert Gadson, Dexter McCellan, and Kimitrea (Bryant) Yates. Stepfather of Travis Prevost, Davida (Alex) Conerly, and Shawanda (Wayne) Carter. Son of the late Evan West, Sr. and Rebecca Smith. Grandson of the late Emanuel and Essie Smith, Cleveland and Ollie Mae West. Brother of Calvin and Kenny (Micherlyn) Smith, Rodney, Evan and Eric West, Carlton Outland, Willie Lean, Debra and Essie Smith, Alice and Regina West, Beverly McCray, and Deborah Butler Dixson. Son-in-law of the late James Walker and Georgia Lee Swatt. Brother-in-law of Mayron (Trenice) Walker, Eric and Carl England, Kevin and Samuel Martin, Debra (James) Carter, Debra (Obie) Jackson, Jose Martin, Muriel Antione, and the late Jethro Smith, Conrad and Gregory England, Karen Cain, and Vera Walker. Special uncle of Crushel Smith. Special cousin of Bennie Myles and Marylean Johnson. Emanuel is also survived by 22 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church #3 and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Baptist Church #3, 441 Wilson St. Marrero, LA on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman D. Smith III, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
