Eloise James Myre, a retired homemaker and caregiver, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA.  Eloise was a graduate of L. B Landry High School. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church for 61 years, where she was a member of the choir, and participated in many other church ministries. Beloved wife of the late Roosevelt Myre. Loving mother of Shalanda Myre Hines and Janet Myre Lesley. Daughter of the late Patrick James and Margie Knight James. Sister of Marian Steib, Marva Magee, Glynn, and Aldon James, and the late Oscar, Monroe, Patrick, Charles, and Godfrey James, Helen Crawford, Audrey Cooper, and Margie Rose. Eloise is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Fischer Community Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Fischer Community Church, 1737 L. B. Landry Avenue New Orleans, LA on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 9:00a.m. Pastor James Nelson Brown, host pastor; Pastor Orin Grant, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.
