ELIZABETH ROBINSON SINGLETON

Elizabeth Robinson-Singleton was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 94. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Elizabeth attended L. B. Landry High School. She worked and retired from Charity Hospital of New Orleans as Dietary Supervisor. Elizabeth had many talents, including playing the piano by ear, drawing, and oil painting. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Mount Olive Baptist Church of Algiers, where she sang in the Senior Choir and on the Deaconess Board for many years. She loved to sing and service God, never wavering in her commitment to the Lord, as well as her spiritual, physical and financial work of the church. As the matriarch and anchor that held her family together, Elizabeth’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live in their hearts and all who knew her. Devoted mother of Doris Singleton-Harris, John Henry Singleton, Lionel Boyd-Singleton, and the late Herbert Singleton, Jr., Thomas Michael Singleton, Sherry Lynn Singleton, Wanda Lee Singleton-Coleman, and Mary Singleton-Byrd. Daughter of the late John and Dorothy Villard Robinson. Beloved sister of Irma Geary-Walker. Former wife of the late Herbert Singleton. Also cherishing her memories are 5 generations of grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Olive Baptist Church #1 of Algiers, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Norman Francis, host pastor; Rev. Kevin Roy, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: McDonoghville Cemetery-Gretna, LA Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.
