ELEANOR LORRAINE CHAPMAN

Eleanor Lorraine Thornton Chapman entered into eternal rest on Wednesday May 3, 2023, at the age of 59. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Eleanor was a graduate of O P Walker High School Class of 1981, and she attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She was currently enrolled at the University of New Orleans and employed with Louisiana Lighthouse for the Blind as a mess tray separator.  Beloved wife of the late Dwayne Chapman. Loving mother of   Chelsea A. Thornton. Grandmother of the late Kendal and Kelsey Adams. Daughter of the late John O. Thornton and Alberta M. Thornton. Granddaughter of the late Bertrand Mitchell and Orelia Joibore. Sister of John Harrison, Robert Harrison, Troy Thornton, and the late Dorance Harrison, Rod Thornton, Danette Harrison, and Allison Williams, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Wednesday May 17, 2023, at 11:00a.m. Rev. Kevin Roy of Mt. Olive Baptist Church officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the above-named parlor. Interment: McDonoghville Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
