ELAINE CATHERINE THOMAS LACY

Elaine Catherine Thomas Lacy passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 83 surrounded by loved ones. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Elaine was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School Class of 1959. Elaine enjoyed a 40-year career as a dedicated caregiver, beginning her work at Plantation Nursing Home and later at the nursery at Methodist Hospital. After retirement, Elaine delighted in spending time with her family, playing cards, nickel poker at the casino, completing crossword puzzles, and using her cherished gizmo (iPad). Beloved wife of the late William Lacy, Sr. Devoted mother of Andrea (Joseph) Ratliff, Michelle (Richard) Williams, William (Lorraine) Lacy, Jr. and the late Leotis Lacy. Daughter of the late Joseph Thomas, Sr. and Elmira Bickham. Stepdaughter of the late Leotis Bickham. Sister of Ruby Johnson, and the late Patricia Gibson, Jerry Fields, George Fields, and Joseph Thomas, Jr. Elaine is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church 1923 St. Phillip Street, New Orleans, LA on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. at the above named church until service time.
