EDWARD RAY SCOTT, JR.

Edward R. Scott, Jr. (Lil Eddie) entered eternal rest at his residence on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at the age of 70. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Marrero, LA. Edward was a graduate of Holy Rosary Institute in Lafayette, LA, and he attended SOWELA Technical Community College (Bunch Village Vocational Center) and Delagado Community College. He was a self employed brick mason for 50 years and Masonry Instructor for 16 years with Joseph A. Cullier Career Center. Eddie was a member of O. J. Dunn Lodge # 85 M.W. Prince Hall G. L. of Louisiana, where he served as Worshipful Master from 2016-2021. Loving father of Essence Jackson-Chapman, Robert William Scott, Edward Ray Scott, and the late Baby Edward; surrogate father of Joseph Michael Lee; son of the late Edward Scott, Sr. and Elnora R. Scott; stepson of Louise B. Scott; grandson of the late William and Alma Adams Smith, Frank Raymond, Sr., Willie “Gus” and Camilla Brown Scott; brother of Cynthia S. Green, Eleanor Faye S. Donatto, Linda S. Reimonenq, Constance Baker-Howard, Netta Faye Baker, Candy (Sharon) S. Cagnolatti, Patrick Baker, Edwin Baker, and John Sharper; uncle of Darnell Green (his devoted godson), Gary Donatto, Marlon Green, and the late Toby-Ray Donatto; nephew of Ceola Raymond Dumas, and Octavia Raymond; father in law of Christopher Enoch Chapman; son-in-law of Robert and Lueverner Berkhalter; godfather of Blair Harris Woodly, also survived by 3 grandchildren, 2 surrogate grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of O. J. Dunn Lodge # 85, M.W. Prince Hall G. L. of Louisiana, Eureka Consistory #7, Valley of New Orleans, Orient of Louisiana , Platta Temple #15 AEAONMS, and Westside Shrine Club are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:50a.m. ONLY at the church. Interment: Evening Star Cemetery-Harvey, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.
