EDWARD CORNEILOUS RAGAS, SR.

Edward “Brock” Corneilous Ragas, Sr. entered peacefully into eternal rest surrounded by family at the age of 92. He was a native of Potash, LA (now Port Sulphur) and a resident of Harvey, LA. Edward was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country during the Korean War. For his bravery he was awarded the National Defense Service Medals. He later enlisted in the U. S. Airforce Reserve. After numerous years as a Mail Carrier with the U. S. Postal Service, he retired in 1979. Edward was married twice, first to the late Irma Sisaac and second the Stella Mae Williams. Loving father of Michael, Aaron, Steven, Diana, Edward III, Kesha, Korbett Sr. (Nequita), Flemming, Sr. (Chandra), Joey, Sr. (Lerthicia) and Jamia Ragas, and the late Edward C. Ragas, Jr., Claudette Ann Ragas, and Kenneth Ragas. Son of the late Edward Mitchell Ragas and Meriam Riley. Brother of Roy Ragas, the late Merlin "Big Mert" Ragas, Sr., James D. Ragas, Sr., and Yvonne R. "Tootie" Gibbs. Edward is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
