DUANE JOHNSON

Duane Johnson was called home to be with the Lord at his residence on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 66. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Daune was formerly employed as a roofer helper and construction worker. “Hank”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was an avid New Orleans Saints Fan. Daune loved spending time with his family, loved animals, and most of all saying he was the best chef in the world. Devoted father of Duane Griffin. Loving grandfather of Duane Morris. Beloved son of Lucille C. Johnson Sawyer and the late David Johnson, Jr. Stepson of Morris H. Sawyer. Grandson of the late Felthus and Elizabeth Cavalier, David Johnson, Sr. and Charity Smith. Brother of Wayne (Yvette) Johnson, Wanda A. (the late Larry, Sr.) Rhea, and the late Lyndon Baine Johnson, and Loren Edward Johnson. Stepbrother of Derick Sawyer and Marvette Sawyer Howard. Nephew of the late Argery Smith, Oliver Thornton, Agenell Armstrong, Geraldine Shanks, Mary Olivia Harris, Dorothy Cavalier, and Elizabeth Blaise. Duane is also survived by a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
