Dorothy Mae Williams

Dorothy Mae Williams, age 95, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Monday, August 25, 2025. She was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. She attended St. James Catholic Church School and was formerly employed with the Jefferson Parish Public School System in the Environmental Services Department. Dorothy was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, where was active with the Church Altar Society, Young at Heart Ministry, and a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communication. Beloved wife of the late Royal Williams, Sr. Devoted mother of Royal Williams, Rita W. Williams, Nathan Williams, Sr., Monica Williams, and Rodney Williams. Daughter of the late Vivian Jesse Steib and Sylvester Steib. Loving sister of Glenda Greer, Veronica Gordon, Claudette Raphael, Daniel Steib, Stephen Steib, and Claude Steib. Mother-in-law of Lorraine Williams and Herman Williams. Daughter-in-law of the late Alex Williams, Sr. and Pressie M. Williams. Sister-in-law of John Greer, Lorenza, Dorethea and Yvonne Steib, Jerry, Victoria, and Rose Williams. Also cherishing her memories are 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant.
