DOROTHY JEAN EVANS WIRE-TURNER

Dorothy Jean Evans Wire-Turner, a homemaker, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the age of 74. She was a native of Martinez, CA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Dorothy was a graduate of Garfield High School in Berkeley, CA. She was employed with St. Joseph the Worker Catholic School as a teacher’s assistant and retired after many years of dedicated service. Loving wife of Alvin Turner. Devoted mother of Contaka Wire (Terry England) and Alasha (the late Craig) Trufant. Stepmother of Sabrita Turner. Cherished grandmother of Joshua Russell, Ajae Anderson, and Erione Wire. Great grandmother of Emery Russell. Beloved daughter of the late Walter Evans and Lady Belle Evans. Granddaughter of the late Johnny Evans, JoeElla Evans, David and Mary Watson. Sister of Alicestine Saunders and Mary Gandy both of Berkeley, CA and the late Walter David Evans, Jr. and Linda Ray Evans. Former wife of Ulysses Wire. Dorothy is also survived by her sisters-in-love Beverly Shears of Haywood, CA and Thelma Jackson, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
