DOROTHY SMITH HARPER

Dorothy S. Harper entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the age of 78. She was a native and resident of Marrero, LA.  Dorothy was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Beloved wife of the late L. J. Harper, Jr. Devoted mother of Danielle Harper (Dameion) Weber, and the late Myron Anthony (Tanya) Harper. Loving grandmother of Quentin, Ebony, Courtney, Domonique, Demi, and Ashlin. Daughter of the late Charles R. Smith and Elvera Senegal Smith. Sister of Gail (the late Elbert, Sr.) Cobb, Deborah Mitchell, Leatrice Smith, Jill Smith, Malcolm (Gustavia) Smith, and the late Richard Charles Ray Smith, Sr., and John Morris Smith. Also left to cherish her memories are 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and other relatives. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of West Jefferson Medical Center are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5^th Street Gretna, LA on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. Toy A. Hodge, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
