DORA LEE CALVIN DENNIS

Dora Lee Calvin Dennis, a homemaker, departed this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the age of 84. She was a native of Gonzales, LA and a longtime resident of Westwego, LA. Dora was a faithful member of United Fellowship Full Gospel Baptist Church, until her health declined. She was the family matriarch, who always believed in putting her best foot forward. Dora was always around to provide a hot meal, a lending hand, or a piece of advice. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Dennis. Loving Cheryl (Larry) Jones, Amanda (Melvin) Jones, and Michelle Custard. Devoted grandmother of Larry Jones, Jr., Courtney Jones, Albert Custard, Jr., Jordan Custard, Sierra Trim, and Melvin Jones, Jr. Daughter of the late Dorcey and Albirda Calvin. Sister of Dorcey Calvin, Jr. Extended mother of Donetta Barker. Extended grandmother of Latasha Barker, Dontae Barker, and Shyrie Lewis. Dora is also survived by her godchildren Marlene Aikens, Jwayne Randell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of United Fellowship Full Gospel Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Graveside Service at Restlawn Park Cemetery 3540 Hwy 90 West, Avondale, LA on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:30a.m. until service time.
