DONALD BLACKMON

Donald “Pete” Blackmon departed this life on Friday, March 11, 2022, at the age of 57. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Idabel, OK. He was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and continued his studies in Culinary School. He was employed as a Restaurant Manager. Devoted father of Donald Riley and Kirsten Fields. Loving fiancé of Ernestine Fields. Beloved son of David J. Blackmon, Sr. and Bobbie Nell Clincy Blackmon.  Grandson of the late A. C. and Hattie Blackmon, Estelle Clincy, and Tecora Brass. Brother of David, Jr., Donice, Sharon, and Gwendolyn Blackmon, Debra (Tyrone) Shenall, Sharlene Lee, and the late Ronald Blackmon. Nephew of Carolyn Thomas, Rosell (Melvin) Taylor, Jaqueline Anderson, Diane Miles (also his god sister), Rev. Robert (Patsy) Blackmon, Rev. Larry (Mary) Blackmon, and the late Janice Favorite, and Eddie Mae Ashley. Uncle of the late David A. Blackmon and Sterling Blackmon.  God brother of Geraldine Norman, Dwayne Rickon, and Toni Carter. Donald is also survived by his special niece Trenice Blackmon, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Life Center Cathedral and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Life Center Cathedral, 2100 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 10:00a.m.  Bishop J. Douglas Wiley Taylor, officiating  Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:45a.m. ONLY at the church.
