DOLORES GEORGE JACKSON

Dolores George Jackson departed from this earthly existence on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, in Marietta, GA, at the age of 81. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, former resident of Marrero, LA and presently residing in Marietta, GA. Dolores was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Grambling State University. She was a retired educator with the Jefferson Parish School System, where she last served as the chorus teacher.at John Ehret High School. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist church in Bridge City, LA, where she served as organist for many years. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Jackson, Sr. Devoted mother of Shereba (Durrell) Jeffery, Shawanna (Michael) Brown, Patrice Jackson, and Kenneth Jackson. Grandmother of Ashley (Ray) Cook, Dane' Milan, Deboni Sherelle, Sydnie Vaughn, and Collin Michael. Great grandmother of Peyton Rae and Blake Aloni. Daughter of the late Johnny and Amanda George. Sister of the late John Melvin George. Sister-in law of Ida Mae Edwards. Devoted Godmother of Ernest Porter, Jr. Adopted mother of Kenya Campbell, also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, host pastor; Pastor Reginald Nicholas, officiating.
