DENISE CARTER HARRISON

Denise Elizabeth Carter-Harrison entered peacefully into eternal rest at Passages Hospice on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the age of 64, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Denise was a graduate of Oliver Perry Walker High School and employed as a Dietician at West Jefferson Medical Center. She formerly worked in the Dietary Departments at Our Lady of Wisdom Nursing Home and Holy Cross College.  Beloved longtime companion of Carlton Clark, Sr. Devoted mother of Kendrick (Brette) Harrison. Loving grandmother of Markquel Hollerman, Kendrick Hollerman, Bryce Harrison, Shanedrick Jefferson, Elijah Harrison, and Gabriel Harrison. Daughter of Della Mae Yancy and the late Jules Carter, Sr. Stepdaughter of Wilbert Yancy. Granddaughter of the late James Allen, Della Mae Allen, Pernell Hithe and Elizabeth Hithe. Sister of Jewel Carter (Solomon) Thomas, Darrell (Willa) Carter, Jules (Kim) Carter, Jr., Gerard (Kathy) Carter, and the late Michael Carter. Stepsister of Kandis Sanders.  Niece of the late Henry Allen, Marcus Carter, James Allen, and Easterline Riminz. Godmother of Kushina Thomas, Edward Allen and Devin Roy; also survived by 5 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family and members of Shop Divas are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11:00a.m. Rev. Kevin Roy of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, officiating.  Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Westlawn Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
