DELLA LOUISE JURY

Della Louise Bujol Jury transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at her daughter’s residence on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the age of 88. She was a native of Lutcher, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Della was a graduate of Cypress Grove High School and a retired Credit Supervisor with J C Penny Department Store. She was a faithful member of First Free Mission Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated Deaconess, President of the Adult Choir and Vice President of the Board of Trustees. Beloved wife of the late Lloyd A. Jury. Devoted mother of Lauresa (Oliver, Jr.) Smith, and Paula (James) Mitchell. Loving grandmother of Stanley Smith, Alaina (Bernard) Brown, and Ciona Bowser. Daughter of the late Freddie Bujol and Rose Lee Coats. Sister of Wanda Wharton, Delores (Cornel) Morris, Margaret (LeRoyal) Webster, Rayne Robinson, and the late Freddie Jr., Rev. Alfred, Rene, and Charles Bujol, Mary Brown, Marlene Morris, Katie Hayes, Shelia Bujol, and Kathleen Shorty. Sister-in-law of Leonard Morris, Ora Dupree, Frances Wood, Gail Spears, Netta Brown, Mary Jane and Jameszetta Bujol. Also cherishing her life and legacy, her bonus sister/cousin Yvonne Hilliard, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of First Free Misson Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at First Free Mission Baptist Church, 919 Adams Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Melvin Collins III, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
