DARLENE MITCHELL TORRY

Darlene “Bertha” Mitchell Torrey departed this life at her residence on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the age of 61. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Darlene was employed for over 30 years in the medical field. She was a former employee of West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved fiancé of Rodney Walls, Sr. Loving mother of Aisha (Charles) Garrison and Emmett Garrison III. Daughter of the Mary Louise Mitchell and Louis Price, Sr. Stepdaughter of Mary Price. Granddaughter of the late Onita and Edward Mitchell, Sr., James and Isabella Price.  Sister of Rosalyn (Calvin) Favors, Joell Harrison, Angela Price, Crystal (Leo) Addison, Yolanda Price, Capacine Young, Alliyson Garrison, Janice Claiborne, Lisa Claiborne, Arlisa Huntley, David, James (Dorothy), Paul, Sr. (Liz), and Malcolm Mitchell, Louis (Terry) Price, Jr., Lavoid Price, Seryan Williams, Carlisle Cobber, Crestwell (Susie) Fazande, Samuel (Tafferon) Vance, and the late Regina Rogers, Eugene Price, and Louis Williams. Godmother of Vera Bradley, Jovan Mitchell, Saniyah McKinnies, Kesian Clinton, and Quendalyn McKinnies. Darlene is also survived b 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Relative and friends of the family, also pastors, offices, and members of St. Rock Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service the True Hope Ministries, 1228 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:00a.m.  Pastor Laurie Sonnier, host pastor; Pastor Leonard O. Franklin, officiating   Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
