CURTIS OWENS

Curtis Owens entered peacefully into eternal rest at University Medical Center on Sunday, September 2, 2023. He was a native of Columbia, S. C. and resided in Waggaman, LA.  He was a 1972 graduate of C.A. Johnson High School, and he attended the University of South Carolina. Curtis served his country and was a retired U.S. Navy Veteran. Beloved Husband of Debbie Owens. Loving father of Anthony Owens. Stepfather of Myron Walker, Cleveland, and John Lewis.  Devoted grandfather of Gabriel, Kieron, A’Jah, and Jaydyn Owens. Step-grandfather of Jousha Walker. Son of the late James and Rosamae Owens. Brother of Izeha (Larry) Slade, Patricia Owens, Theresa Owens, Emanuel Owens, Milton Owens, and the late Wardell Willingham. Curtis is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives, friends, and members of Mount Sinai Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Memorial Celebration of Curtis’s life at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 1249 LeBouef Street, New Orleans, LA 70114, on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Dudley Watson officiating.
