Colleen Margarette Collins

Colleen Margarete Collins departed this life on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the age of 41 surrounded by her family. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Prairieville, LA.   Colleen was a graduate from John Ehret High School and attended Southern University. She then went to work for Gerry Lane Buick GMC as a salesperson for 15 years.  Her desire to operate a restaurant came with Wags on The Levee and then to own Wags Neighborhood. Loving daughter of Larry & Gertrude Collins. Devoted mother of Ronald McClure and Chelsey Smith. Granddaughter of the late David and Lorraine Collins, and Samuel Cann. Sister of Tanya Payne, Terrez Collins, and Larry (Akira) Collins Jr. Niece of the late Nadi Simmons. A true confidant of LaShunta Johnson. Fiance' of Nishen Palmer, also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral at True Hope Church Ministries International, 1228 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time the church.
