CLAUDIA SHELTON CARSON

Claudia Etta Shelton Carson entered into eternal rest at her residence on Monday, November 28, 2022, at the age of 73. She was a Native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Claudia was a graduate of McDonogh 35 High School, Southern University of New Orleans, and Xavier University of Louisiana, with a master’s degree in education. She retired after over 20 years as an educator with the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Claudia was a member of Greater Destiny Church of Westwego and Order of Eastern Star Chapter #17 of Algiers, LA. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Joseph Carson. Devoted mother of Richard (Terez S.) Carson and Shanette (Theodore H.) Calloway. Loving grandmother of Terrance T. Lyons IV, Theodore H. Calloway II, Shanteds N. Calloway, Tedra L. Calloway, and Ricshard C. Carson. Great great grandmother of Elajah and Cain Calloway. Godmother of Shawanna Daniels and Ashley L. Mackie Daughter of the late Clinton Shelton, Jr. and Dorothy Lee Sholes Shelton. Sister of Joshaline Shelton (Myron) Mackie, Katherine Shelton (Rubin) Robinson, Ledell Shelton, Elaine Shelton Darensburg, and the late Clinton Shelton III (Mercedes). Sister-in-law of Tyrone Carson, Phonia (Mary) Carson, Joan (William) Bell, and the late Minnie Louise Boston, James W. Carson, Jr. and Calvin Carson. Claudia is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Destiny Church and all neighboring churches; members of Eastern Star Chapter #17 of Algiers are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
