CHERYL GROWE RICHARDSON

Cheryl Ann Growe Richardson, age 65, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA. She was a 1979 graduate of John H. Martyn High School, where she proudly served as captain of the Majorette Dance Team. She was employed for many years caring for others at Meadowcrest Living Center, Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and Wynhoven Community Care Center. She also worked as a bartender at various establishments. Cheryl was a member of V.I. P. Ladies Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Inc., and a diehard New Orleans Saints fan. Cheryl was a woman whose presence brought warmth wherever she went. Loving mother of Kijuana Growe and Thomas “Chank” Growe. Cherished grandmother of Dwayne Earl, Keimas, and Kijuan Growe. Bonus grandmother of Tyajia and Tierney Coleman. Beloved daughter of Mathilda Ann Parret Growe and the late Cleveland Growe, Sr. Devoted sister of Jennifer G. Davis, Cleveland “Peppy” Grown, Jr., and the late Bryan Growe. Granddaughter of the late Nelson and Mary Jackson Parret, Ames, Sr. and Leona Hodges Growe. Godmother of Jackyron Newman, La Tashia Fly Pierre, Kenyada Toliver, and Tracy Bright, Jr. Cheryl is also survived by her devoted companion Lee Andrews and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Macedonia Baptist Church, Rock of Ages Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of V. I. P. Ladies Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Inc. are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acres Rd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
