CATHERINE CANN

Catherine Elizabeth Collins Cann entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the age of 91. She was a native Gretna, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Catherine was a retired employee with Jefferson Parish School System in food service. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Cann, Sr. Devoted mother of Samuel Cann, Jr, Gertrude Collins, Willie, Eric, and Erica Cann, and the late Nadi Smith. Daughter of the late Willie, Sr and Gertrude Collins. Grandmother of the late Collins R. Cann, Samuel S. Cann, and Colleen Collins. Sister of the late Ferdinand, Alvin, and Willie Collins, Willienese Harris, and Gertrude Gabriel. Sister-in-law of the late Lucien, Stanley, Marty, Warren, and Richard Cann, Mercedes Collins, and Virginia Maddison, also survived by 16 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Hope Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Hope Baptist Church 434 7^th St. Gretna, LA on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11:00a.m. Pastor Warren E.
