CARLISS ILEAN JACKSON

Carliss Ilean Jackson entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of 68. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Carliss was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southern University at New Orleans in Elementary Education, Carliss became an educator with the Jefferson Parish School System. She retired after 45 years of service. Beloved wife of 44 years to Herman Jackson. Loving mother of Darren Jackson of Mobile, AL, Barry (Tina) Williams of Gretna, LA, Brett (Pamela) Jackson, Shone Jackson, Damian Jackson, Gentriece M. Jackson, and Mildred White. Daughter of the late John Jackson, Jr. and Sarah Jackson. Granddaughter of the late William Thomas, Eva Doretha Thomas, John Jackson, Sr., and Sadie Elizabeth Jackson. Sister in law of Geraldine (Grant) White of Paradis, LA, Gwendolyn Carter of Humble, TX, Herbert Jackson, Anthony (Gwen) Jackson. Niece of Regina Thomas-Riley, Barbara McMillian, and Lionel Thomas, also survived by 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces. nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.   Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Highway Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Hayel Dr., Marrero, LA on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Joseph J. Jackson, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
