CALLINE EAST WICKER

Calline Wicker, a homemaker, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the age of 89. She was a native of St. Francisville, LA, a former resident of Marrero, LA and presently residing in Harvey, LA. Calline was a graduate of Dawson High School. She was a gifted seamstress who created beautiful garments for herself, her family, and her clients. She also generously shared her talent by donating her creations to members of the community. Calline often expressed her love for others through her amazing cooking and generous spirit. She was a faithful member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Marrero, LA, where she served as a Deaconess, and with Helping Hands, Andrew Feeding, Senior Stars, and 100 Ministries. For many years, she and her husband led the Andrew Feeding Ministry. Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Edward Wicker, Sr. Devoted mother of Edward (Sandra) Wicker, Jr. Veronica (Laurence) Alexander, Robert Wicker, Sr., Pamela (Derek) Stockman, and Loraine (Christopher) Jones. Proud grandmother of Brandon (Vanessa), Shondrah (Dakia), Adrian, Dewayne, Mariah (Joseph), David, Kailah (Darren), Tyler, Robert, Jr. Jasmine, Demetria, and Nia. Daughter of the late Frank and Allie Rae East. Loving sister of Irma Cavalier, Frank East, Jr. and the late Margaret East, Lily Thompson, Luberta Harris, and Edward East. Also cherishing her memories are 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:50a.m. ONLY at the church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
