Brenda “Queen” Marie Higgins, age 68, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. She was a native and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Brenda was formerly employed as a Nurse Aide. Wife of the late Paul “Granny” Joseph Higgins. Mother of Bryancha McGinnis, Tynicqua Higgins, Paulljannet Higgins, Pernella LaFrance, Anne Higgins, and Nicole Briscoe. Beloved daughter of the late Louis Davis, Sr., and Sophie Byes Davis. Loving sister of Andrew Davis, Rodney Davis, Michael Dixon, Darren Dixon, Corey Dixon, Bryan Dixon, Carolyn Davis, Linda Davis, Shelia Dixon and the late Louis Davis, Jr., Mary Anne Watkins, and Betty Davis. Sister-in law of the late Edna Davis. Mother-in-law of the late Keith McGinnis. Brenda is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a host nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above-named parlor.
