BETTY LOU RICHARD

January 5, 1932 — June 22, 2021

Betty Lou Taylor Richard entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the age of 89. She was a native of Arnaudville, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA for 70 years. She attended Gilbert Academy and was a graduate of Carver High School in Breaux Bridge, LA. After a successful career as a sales associate, Betty retired from Sears Roebuck and Company. Beloved wife of the late Herman C. Richard, Sr. Loving mother of Janice R. (Rodney, Sr.) Whitney, Ramona R. Lewis, and Herman C. (Angela) Richard, Jr. Devoted grandmother of Devin A. (Jessica) Lewis and Jarrett T. N. Richard. Daughter of the late Levi Taylor and Lou Anna Clark Taylor. Godmother of Normand Castille; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Customs and Border Protection-Office of Field Operations-Houston Seaport; retired and former employees of Sears Store 1286 (Oakwood Mall) are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 6223 Sixth Ave. Marrero, LA on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Edward Joseph, III, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.
