BETTY J MARRERO

Betty Jean Marrero peacefully entered into eternal rest at her residence on Sunday, September 28, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 77. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Betty was employed as a Sales Associate with Dillard’s Department Store. Beloved wife of the late Warren Marrero. Devoted mother of Kevin Lee (Trine) Marrero, Sr. and the late Dwayne Marrero. Daughter of the late Joseph and Audrey Verrett. Loving sister of Barbara (Alvin) Birdlow and the late Samuel Verrett, Frank Southall II, Irvin Southall, and Norma Verrett. Betty is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of New Sunrise Baptist Church #1 and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at New Sunrise Baptist Church #1, 1325 LeBoeuf Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Cornell Sisler, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
