BETTY LOU ROSS WILLIAMS

Betty R. Williams departed this life at her residence on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the age of 82. She was a native of Gibson, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Betty was a graduate of Southdown High School, and later she attended Nicholls State University. She was employed as a surgical tech with West Jefferson Medical Center, Methodist Ambulatory Services, The Office of Dr. Weathers & Children’s Hospital. Later in her career she was employed with the Jefferson Parish School System. Beloved wife of over 59 years to Tom Williams, Jr. Devoted mother of Kevin (Kenya) Williams, and Keith Williams. Grandmother of Brittany (Terence) Dixion, Bricen, and Kameron Williams, Great grandmother of Terence, III, Zoey, and Chloe Dixion. Daughter of the late Elijah and Gertrude Ross. Sister of Donna (Howard) Johnson, Carrie Owens, and the late Louis, James, Robert Lee, Elijah and Cora Ross. Daughter in law of the late Mattie Johnson. Sister in law of Clarence (Mary) Williams, Nathan (Shirley) Brooks, Ethel (Bernard) Norman, and the late Ernestine Ross, and Roland Owens, Jr. Godmother of Fredrick Hanzy, Kendra White, Shawn Weber, Alanrea Scott, Theresa (Ross) Byrd, and Octovia Marie Blanco, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd. Marrero, LA on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor T. A. Ranson, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
