BERKMAN ANDERSON

Berkman Anderson entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the age of 67. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Berkman was a 1976 graduate of Fisher High School. He was employed for many years as welder at Avondale Shipyard. Devoted father of Auvionna Joy Anderson and Darius “DJ” Jones. Cherished grandfather of Emiya Green. Beloved son of the late Joseph” Lil Joe” Anderson, Sr. and Virleen Green Anderson. Grandson of the late Robert and Josephine Green, Joseph and Olivia Anderson. Loving brother of Ernest, Freddie, and Robert Anderson, Yvonne Smith, Hilda Anderson, Linda Roche, and the late Carol Butler, Shirley Canselo, Denise Anderson, Gloria Allen, Leroy Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Jr., and Leroy Mitchell. Uncle of the late Angelnetta Canselo, Ernest Anderson, Jr., Joseph "Prat" Anderson, Steven Canselo, and Kavin Lawrence. Berkman is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Zion Family Worship Center and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at New Zion Family Worship Center, 5040 Taravella Road, Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
