BENNY TAYLOR, JR.

Benny Taylor, Jr. entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the age of 46. He was a native of Harvey, LA and a resident of River Ridge, LA. Benny was a 1994 graduate of St. Augustine High School and he attended Southern University at New Orleans. He was employed as an Independent Contractor with Pilot Catastrophe Service Inc. of Mobile, AL. Benny was an organist who played for several churches in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area, including Shiloh Baptist Church of Gretna and Central City Community Church to just name a few. He was a former independent contractor for Cox Communications through DDR. Loving father of Jayden Hall. Beloved son of the late Benny Taylor, Sr. and Diana Davis Taylor. Grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, Sr. Brother of Joan (Oscar) Rainey and Tracy (Jessica) Davis. Nephew of the late Herbert Nash, Emma Jean Taylor, and Glenda Taylor Young. Former husband and friend of Angerean Michon Taylor. Also cherishing his memory is his sisterly Shawn Gilbert, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Baptist Church of Gretna, Central City Community Church, Israel Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration at Israel Baptist 1612 Esther Street Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Darryl McKinnies, host pastor; Pastor Larry J. Davis of Shiloh Baptist Church of Gretna, officiating.
