BARBARA COOK JOHNSON

Barbara Cook Johnson completed her earthly course on Thursday, September 30, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79.  She was a native and resident of Algiers, LA.  Barbara was a retired retail sales associate. Beloved wife of the late Lawrence Johnson Sr. Devoted mother of the late Diane Paige, Lawrence Jr., and Daryl Johnson. Grandmother of the late Mikeshell and Myshell Paige.  Daughter of late Ernest, Sr. and Mathilda Cook.  Sister of Brenda Cook (Harold) Lewis and the late Herbert (Margaret) Pierre Sr., Ernest (Augustine) Cook, Jr., Emile (Doris) Cook, Sr., Harold (Mabel) Cook, Sr., Thomas (Elouise) Cook, and Rosemary Cook (Joe) Lewis. Niece of Annie Mae Lewis. Grandmother of Eric Parker, Destiny, Myiesha, and DaJonea Paige. Great grandmother of Jamayah Paige, Wisdom and Willow Reed. Godmother of Perry Johnson, Jonell Lewis, and Dana Roy Lloyd, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral services at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place Algiers, LA, on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 10:00a.m.  Viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. until 9:50a.m. ONLY.
