BARBARA JEAN DAVIS

Barbara Jean Trinity Davis, age 86, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at West Henderson Hospital in Henderson, NV. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Barbara was a proud 1957 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Her musical talents earned her honors and a partial scholarship to Xavier University of Louisiana. She later attended Delgado Community College to pursue a career in culinary arts. In 2004, after 30 years of hard work and dedicated service, Barbara retired from retail management. With deep devotion, unwavering faith, and service to God and others, she and her husband Pastor Samuel C. Davis, founded Loving Faith Baptist Church in 1981. She served alongside him, ministering to the congregation with the gifts of music and leadership. She was actively involved with the Deaconess, Music, and Pastor’s Aid Ministries. This reflected her heart of service, and she was a true example of biblical virtues of kindness, humility, and love. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Pastor Samuel C. Davis. Loving mother of Pastor Carl (Leslie) Davis, Pastor Kenneth (Fay) Davis, Karen Davis (Christopher) Ceasar, Craig Davis, Pastor David l. (Shimeka) Davis, Sr., Catherine Davis (Kenneth) Wright, Marvin Smith, her adopted son, and the late Calvin Davis. Daughter of the late George and Adelaide Trinity. Devoted sister of Ernest (Gerry) Trinity, George Trinity, Anthony (Eva) Trinity, and the late Gerald Trinity, and Patty Trinity Adams. Also cherishing her memories are 26 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Loving Faith Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Viewing at Loving Faith Baptist Church, 45 5th Street, Gretna, LA on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 7:00p.m. -9:00p.m. Homegoing Celebration will be held at the above named church on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Pastor David L. Davis, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
