BARBARA REED ANDERSON

Barbara Reed Anderson received her wings on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the age of 82. She was a native and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Barbara was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School. She was a retired Crossing Guard of the Orleans Parish Public School System. Barbara was a member of Second Baptist Church, where she served over 40 years as an Usher. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and Louisiana State Association of Elks I.B.P.O.E.W.  Beloved wife of the late Alex Anderson, Jr. Loving mother of Carolyn, Deborah, Dornell, Cornell, Ingrid, Cornell M., and the late Alex D. Anderson. Grandmother of the late Danielle Anderson. Daughter of the late Norman Reed, Sr., and Thelma D. Reed. Sister of the late Norman Reed, Jr., Albert Reed, Eugene Reed, Joseph Reed, Mildred Reed Alexander, Daisy Reed Mars, and Faye Reed. Barbara is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of  Walmart #1163, McDonald’s, Ochsner Medical Center, Lowe’s/GEO, Hancock Whitney Bank, 818 Trucking, Bimbo Bakeries, and Turning Point are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Pl., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Andre Sigler officiating.
