ANTOINE SANDERS

Antoine Sanders transitioned from this life to his eternal home on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the age of 64. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Antoine was a graduate of O. Perry Walker High School and attended Copiah-Lincoln College. “Toine”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends was employed with River Shack Restaurant Bar & Grill as a grill specialist. Antoine was a sports enthusiast and followed the New Orleans Pelicans and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. Devoted husband of Tracy B. Sanders. Beloved father of Anjowana (Cornell, Sr.) Williams, Antoine of Frisco, TX, Antoniya, and Asian. Loving grandfather of Kimme and Kim Thompson, Jr., Mekhi Jackson, Jay’la and Cornell Williams, Jr., Autumn, Ayden, Asiah, and Asia. Son of the late John H. Sanders, Jr. and Betty Jean Sanders. Grandson of the late Frellie, Sr. and Beatrice Bowman, John, Sr. and Ella H. Sanders.  Brother of Patrice Smith Stephanie Temple of Austin, Tx., Michael Degree (Derrick) Smith, Jacquelyn Sanders of Austin, TX, Nathaniel (Yulonda) Sanders of Austin, TX, Shantella (Sam, Sr.) Martin, Nicquolette (Darrel, Sr.) Parker, and the late John H. Sanders, III, and Judith D. Sanders.  Uncle of the late John H. Sanders, IV, Nathaniel Sanders, II, and Haywood C. Reed, Jr. Nephew of Louberta Davis of Kyle, TX. Godfather of Jonesia Spencer. Brother-in-law of the late Cheryl Sanders, and Charlie Temple, Sr., also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, First Pentecostal Church of Austin, TX, Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Bryan Bowman, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
