ANNIE SMITH PAUL

Annie Smith Paul, age 83, a retired nurse, entered peacefully into eternal rest at Chateau Living Center. She was a native of Pineville, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. She was a 1958 graduate of McDonogh 35 High School and furthered her education at Straight’s Business College in Business Administration in 1959. Annie also attended Orleans Parish LPN Program with internship at Charity Hospital in 1962; 2 ½ years at LSUNO in Elementary Education; UNO Paralegal Program in 1987, specializing in Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury and a Real Course from Uptown Real Estate School. She later received NRP Certification (Neonatal Resuscitation) and Christian Education and Biblical Studies Teacher Certification from Greater St. Stephen FGBC (Bishop Paul S. Morton) and Kenner Bible College (Pastor Frank A. Davis, III, dean). Annie served as the Louisiana State Education Chairperson for over 10 years with NAPNE and also served on the Advisory Board for LPN licensure for Louisiana and national office. She received numerous awards including Nurse Diplomat, Nurse of the Year, Target 100 Achievement Award and Christian Education Teacher of the Year three times at Greater St. Stephens FGBC. She retired in October of 2025 to care for her sick husband, until his untimely death in November of 2007. Annie enjoyed traveling, listening to music, teaching and Christian Education Counseling. Beloved wife of 41 years to the late Mack L. Paul. Loving daughter of the late Sam and Sophie Payne Smith. Sister of the late Sammi S. Toussaint. Devoted aunt of Bridgette Toussaint, Shawn Toussaint, Jason Toussaint, Jarrick Toussaint, and Justin Toussaint. Great aunt of Christopher Toussaint; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Private service was held.
