ANNA MAE BUTLER LEWIS

Anna Mae Butler-Lewis transitioned peacefully surrounded by family and friends at her residence at the age of 92. She was a native of Algiers, LA and resident of Gretna, LA. Anna attended the Orleans Parish School System, and she was a retired employee with Mary Joseph Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Mitchell Lewis, Sr. Devoted mother of Mitchell Lewis, Jr. Mother-in-law of Tanya Barabino Lewis. Grandmother of Mikaele Anise Lewis, Ronald (Kiana) Doakes. Stepmother of Michael and Mitchell Lewis, Cheryl (Jay) Halliburton, and Arlene Rogers. Daughter of the late Isaac and Emily Pierre Butler. Sister of the late Matilda Cook, Adeline Hart, Audrey Mae Rogers, Joseph, August, Norman, Harold, Herman, and Herbert Butler. Devoted friend of Lorraine Sullen, also survived by 11 step grandchildren, 6 godchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Nazarene Baptist Church, St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Progressive Church, and neighboring churches. Employees of UPS, Studio Beauty Salon, VA Hospital, N3W 3ER Barber Shop, Special Thanks to Davis Mortuary Service & Staff  and Guardian Angel Hospice are invited to the Celebration of Life at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA on Monday, February 21,2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Peter L. Crawford, Jr officiating. Pastor Norman Francis, host pastor.
