AMBER CLAIRE BLAKES

Amber Claire Blakes passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones to be with our Father in heaven at the age of 45.  She was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Amber will be remembered as a brilliant woman, a go-getter, a friend to all, a loving niece, and a cousin who loved her family.  Loving mother of Najai Semaj Davis, Imri James Blakes-Williams, and London Blakes-Jones. Doting grandmother of Marley Rashad Davis. Beloved daughter of the late James Leonard Blakes and Marlene Favorite Blakes. Sister of Nanette, Dericka, Phillip, Keith, Eris, and the late Kenneth. Granddaughter of the late Ethel Mae Davis, Edward and Emma Dell Favorite. Niece of Burma Bentley, Judith James, Lisa Favorite, Una Favorite Brown, Preston Favorite, David Holmes, Melikile Favorite, Sr., and the late Alfredia F. Kindrick. Goddaughter of Gilda Collins and Rev. Anthony Williams. Devoted friend of Lori, Tiffany, Anieze, Janetha, Renee, Ciera, Larry and Kyra.  Amber is also survived her devoted cousin Marionne Celistan, who was always there to assist with her daily living, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.  The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Borgeman, Nurses Kim, Rhea, Batchy, and the entire Touro Hospital Staff that treated Amber as nothing less than family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Greater Mount Calvary Church, 1600 Westwood Dr. Marrero, LA on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:00a.m.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
