AMANDA SUE BROWN-JACKSON

Amanda Sue Brown Jackson transitioned to her heavenly home at M. D. Anderson Medical Center in Houston, TX on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the age of 67. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Amanda was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and Phillips Junior College. She was a retired Payroll Clerk of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. She was a former employee of St. Charles General Hospital and Mrs. Sue’s Transportation Service. Amanda was a member of Elegant Ladies Social and Pleasure Club and the American Cancer Society. Beloved wife of Michael Jackson, Sr. Loving mother of Michael Jackson, Jr., Darrin Jackson, Sr., and Danay Jackson. Daughter of the late Earl and Mildred Brown. Granddaughter of the late Henry Johnson and Lee Gene Johnson. Sister of Rhonda Gavion, Earl Brown, Jr., Frank Brown, Sr., and the late Elois Lulu Brown Williams. Daughter-in-law of the late Joseph Jackson, Sr. and Dorothy George. Amanda is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Baptist Church of Gretna, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church of Harvey, New Hope Baptist Church of Gretna, and all neighboring churches; members of Elegant Ladies Social & Pleasure Club and the American Cancer Society are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe Street Gretna, LA on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Orin Grant, Sr., officiating.
