ALTHEA PRICE SWIFT

Althea Emelda Price Swift passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the age of 84. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA. Althea dedicated much of her life to caring for her home and family. She was generous by nature, feisty in spirit, and blessed with a wonderful sense of humor. Those who knew her knew that Althea enjoyed a good conversation, a good laugh, and, perhaps most of all, a good story or a little gossip shared with those she loved. Her personality was unmistakably her own, and she brought laughter and character to the lives of the people around her. Beloved wife of the late Calvin Swift, Jr. Devoted mother of Keith Anthony (Darlene) Swift, Jeffrey Bernard (Mikeal) Swift, and the late Renette Nicole Swift. Stepmother of Sharon S. (Terrance) Wade, Wayne (Renea) Swift, and Gina Swift. Sister of the late Carolyn Price Armstrong. Althea is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the above named parlor.
