ALEX WALLACE, JR.

Alex Wallace, Jr. departed this life on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 88. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Menomonee Falls, WI. Alex was a graduate from Walter L. Cohen Senior High School in New Orleans. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He earned multiple degrees in Electronic Engineering and worked in product development for several major companies. Thereafter, Alex served as the Assistant Director of Upward Bound and the Director of Continuing Education at the University of Milwaukee, WI, until his retirement in 2001. Alex loved sports, traveling, and music, especially jazz. He attended the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival annually. Devoted husband of 49 years to Emma Shaw. Beloved father of Randall A. (Pam) and Ryan A. Whiteside. Stepfather of Kara Baity. Grandfather of Reia A. and Rachel A. Whiteside and 7 bonus grandchildren. Son of the late Alex Wallace, Sr. and Corinne Coleman Wallace. Grandson of the late Earl and Mattie Coleman, John Henry and Julia Wallace Brother of Jacqueline Minor, Muriel Simon (Joseph), Earl Harden, Brenda Brownlee (Donald), James Chapman, Sylvia Ellis (Andre), Claire Brown (Albert), and first cousin, Kathy C. Patterson (Greg). Nephew of the late Aunt Mary Wallace. Son in law of the late Rev. Gabriel and Mary Shaw. Brother-in-law of the late Dennis Minor, and Donna Harden, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous other family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Services, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 10:00am. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
