ALEAN BRIGGS JONES

Alean Briggs Jones entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the age of 85. She was a native of Kentwood, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved wife of the late Rev Paul Jones, Sr. Devoted mother of Robert (Debra) Briggs of Houston, TX., Wayne (Ann) Briggs, Patrick (Diane) Jones, Sr., Keithen Jones, Paul Clair, Sharon Briggs Goodwin of Jamaica, NY., Ida (Arthur) Domino, Dorothy Reed, Paulette (Adolph) Smith, Estelle Jones, and the late Raymond Briggs, Michael Briggs, Darryl Briggs, Paul Jones, Jr., Elias Jones, Ronnie Jones, Jerry L. Jones, Sr., and Darlene Jones Millsaps. Daughter of the late Matthew Briggs and Eular Matthews. She was reared by her mother and Eugene Dyson. Grandmother of Ashley Minor of Jacksonville, FL., Latill Alean, and Tayler Victor Goodwin of Jamaica, NY. Sister Nurcelia Briggs Evans, Doretha Marie Dyson of Kentwood, LA., Maxcine Burkhalter, Edward “ED” Dyson, and the late Elzie Briggs, Iley, Jessie Briggs, Eugene Shanks, Jr., Arabell Richardson, Elvia Mae Briggs, and Thelma Briggs, also survived 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Zion Baptist Church 6520 Second Zion Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday October 2, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Bishop James Nelson Brown, officiating.
