Onetha "Ms. Nita" Marie Aitkens peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013. She was the first female to work for Jefferson Parish as a labor and bridge operator. Mother of Curtis "Skipper" Williams and the late Dwight Porche. Daughter of the late Earline Porche and Curtis Aitkens. Sister of Marion Murdock, Sementry Arnold, Peggy A. Lixner, Shanda C. Popular, Curtis Aitkens, Jr., and Herbert Popular. Godmother of Lashanda Avant, Mary Ridgley, Ashley Moody, Travon Holmes, and Laniqua Roussell, also survived by 6 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 64 years a native of Houma, La. and a resident of Westwego, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second St. John Baptist Church and neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish Dept. of Road & Bridges are invited to attend the funeral service at Second St. John Baptist Church 242 Avondale Garden Rd.
