Elmira Bergeron Singleton

Elmira Bergeron Singleton entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 81.  She was a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Gretna, LA. She was a graduate of Southdown High School and attended Delgado Community College.  Elmira was a retired Site Manager of the Council on Aging.  Loving mother of George Singleton, Jr., Cheryl (Clarence) Singleton, Kenneth (Lisa) Singleton, and Rosalind Singleton. Daughter of the late Henry and Sadie Thomas Bergeron.  Sister of the late Algiers, Sylvester, Edison, Jessie, Leonard, and Henry Bergeron, Jr., Sidman B. Merrick and Dorothy B. Lewis.  Elmira is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Samuel Travis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service at the above named parlor.
